Resveratrol from Japanese knotweed
Polygonum cuspidatum
I want to introduce you to a powerful plant medicine called resveratrol. It’s a little confusing to explain due to the name of the plant and plant components involved. But it’s not hard to learn!
You’ve heard of resveratrol….years ago it was all over the news as being good for heart health and how the French were benefiting from all of the red wine they drink.
Resveratrol is a component found in many plants, including grapes. However, a powerful form of it is found in the roots of a highly invasive plant called Japanese knotweed (Polygonum cuspidatum.)
Resveratrol can enhance the effects of antibiotics making them more effective.
- Gingivitis
- Arthritis
- Autoimmune diseases
- Heart conditions
- Cognitive issues and brain function
- Kidney disease
- Neurological regeneration
- Anti-cancer
- Non-specific endocrine health
- Lyme Disease
- Anti-viral (think lyme disease, herpes virus, etc…)
This is one study on the Antiviral Activity of Resveratrol agains Human and Animal Viruses. I give this to my pets if they have been bitten by a tick and I’ve been taking it the past 2 weeks to help ward off the COVID-19 virus. See below for more on this amazing plant.
